Ribbon Cutting for the Community Gardens & Juneteenth celebration

Fort Bend Green has been helping the County Judge’s office, in partnership with Lucille’s 1913, to promote the community gardens initiative at Bates Allen Park in Kendleton. A ribbon cutting was held, in conjunction with a Juneteenth celebration, on June 18, 2022. The community garden will take up 10 acres of the 200+ acres at the Park. The park was used as farmland long before it became a park in the 1970s. The County provided the land for Lucille’s 1913 to create and manage the gardens

WILDFLOWER SEEDING

Keep Fort Bend Beautiful, under the guidance of Fort Bend Green, has been researching county-owned properties throughout 2022 to plant wildflowers in areas that would be beneficial to both the public and the County Parks Department.

HARLEM ROAD PARK EXPANSION

Fort Bend Green was approached by members of the Pecan Grove MUD who were interested in pickleball courts.

GREENSPACE ACREAGE IN FBC

Part of Fort Bend Green’s mission is to enhance and encourage green space and park development within the County.
